B- What to do? 6 steps towards 2008 in WSF websites

1-REGISTER IN WSF2008.NET AND SIGN THE CALL TO SHOW YOUR WILLINGNESS TO BE ACTIVE IN 2008

Currently, as participants to wsf process, you are heartily invited to REGISTER AND SIGN the call for 2008 mobilization week in wsf2008.net site
By signing you express that you are willing to be active , and co organize an initiative or participate in something organized by others
Stimulate your friends and fellows from your organisation or network to sign the call !
then see the signatures ordered by collective presence of organisations by city or by networks here )
or look for your organisation by alphabetical order here,

2-FIND LOCAL PARTNERS FOR A COMMON LOCAL INITIATIVE around January 26th 2008

You can search then other people willing to organize something with you on that occasion, some of them might in the city
The initiative can be a very modest meeting, or an "event " with several activities in a row or even in parallel .

3-START A GROUP TO PREPARE YOUR LOCAL INITIATIVE

Do not omit to indicate where to join your initiative group when signing the wsf2008.net site so that new people can find you and propose to join

4-SHOW YOUR ACTIVITY (S) /ACTION/INITIATIVE(S)

the declaration of activity will be made in www. wsf2008.net ,
you can prepare your activity in wsfprocess.net
if you have created your group in wsfprocess.net you are invited to describe your projected activity for 2008 in wsprocess.net - it will be visible to all wsfprocess.net user and can also be visible in the public internet (using "memorise" option)

activities/ initiatives can be ranging from small symbolic action , to workshops, to big demonstrations, to clusters of several activities in a row or in parallel )

5-PREPARE CONNECTIONS WITH OTHERS ACTIVITIES

One of the main aspects of this 2008 global mobilization is international solidarity between people, that is what connecting is about
Connection can be made through real time contacts or differed contact, through electronic contacts ( teleconference, chat, mail exchange, video exchange) or face to face ( with people travelling )
Activity co-organizer are invited to browse activitiies , contact organizers of those and to connect their activities together

6- BE YOUR OWN MEDIA IN WSF2008

organizers of each activity will be then collectively given an own communication space in the "media " module of wsf2008 where to upload some text , audiofile , photos and "one minute video "
there you can
- display your light media material corresponding to your activity and
- give link to other media sites where you have upload longer videos for instance - see a list of such alternative media sites here, also use widely known sites ( you tube , dailymotion etc.. to poularize global mobilization
- give link to the networking site where your group is established , and sites
all these light media windows will be accessible during the mobilization week through a WORLD MAP of all activities in www.wsf2008.net

C -How to create a group, for networking and preparing activities for 2008 ( step 3 and 4 above)

As of now

1 - if not done Register personally as a user of this site, participant in wsf process

if you are already registered and cannot remember your user name write to helpdesk ( click on help)

if you cannot remember your password click on "forgot password?" in the left of home page below the log in field)
2 - look for your organisation here and
- afiliate to your organisation if you find it ( click on " participants " tab that appear in the central menu area
- or, if it is not present in the site, register it ,
- or declare yourself in personal capacity if you are not linked to an organisation
3 - look for the groups here include yourself in a group in wsfprocess.net (search groups close to you by indicating a country and city in the search on the top right of the screen)
or create a group that will host the activity you register (and can be a place where to prepare it)

if in step 3 you have started a networking group in another place than wsfprocess.net to organize your initiative , you keep it that way, and depending the option decided you go to wsf2008.net to declare your activity , or you create an "echo" group in wsfprocess to be a vehicle for registering the activity and making it visble in a common database
it is advised to present activities in the name of a group rather than in the name of one single organisation ( the activity organizers from various organisation share then a space and a mailing list) you can create a new group here

4 - Describe your intentions of action/ activity/initiative for 2008
click on register activity button
( after you can go on wsf2008.net and create it by copy paste and show in on the map)

at first it can be only one idea ,

then it may diversify in a multiple activity or split in several activities, in whic case it might be good to also declare a multiactivity/event presenting the general initiative

this activity can be during the mobilisation week or at another date - in that case some more symbolic activity can take place during the mobilization week for informing about what has or will take place later on

D - Where to find contacts for connecting activities ?

The fact that activities are connected means some kind of exchange and cooperation will take place between the two
CONNECTING your activity with another one: this is done by editing a link (see here how to edit links ) to the other activity in the main description fied of the activity
by giving link to each other activity URL ( internet adress) - people can navigate from one activity to another , also the connection
